Discover several features of Lima in your 4-day tour. Explore the old colonial area of Lima by entering private houses and historical houses together with historical sites such as the San Francisco Convent and a private museum housing the best collection of Pre-Colombian artifacts. Pay a visit to a pre-Inca temple next to the Pacific Ocean and a drive through a natural protected area in the middle of the city. A full day is set aside for you to learn and enjoy. Half day will be spent visiting a local market, the Chinatown (Peruvian gastronomy have enriched its experience thanks to the China immigration), and by meeting two recognized chefs who will share with us some of its great food. Another half day will be spent walking through the bohemian neighborhood of Barranco where you will be able to do some shopping of the best Peruvian handicraft.
Day 1
We will meet you at airport and transfer to your hotel or right afterwards you may start your visits. We will escape to the magnificence of the Colonial times and to the glorious Republican times of Lima. Walk to Casa Osambela, an architectural jewel of particular interest as it has three floors where former owner could observe the port of Callao. We walk two blocks and we arrive in Casa de Aliaga, stunning mansion owned by the same family since the viceroyalty. Visit the convent of San Francisco with its solemn library and its chilling catacombs. We will finish visiting the Magic Water Circuit Park where we will enjoy a unique show of lights, water, music and pictures. Overnight hotel.
Day 2
We will start visiting the Larco Museum, built-in a colonial mansion showing an exceptional scene of more than 3,000 years Peruvian history development. Drive through the coastline along Chorrillos, historical district of Lima. We will visit this district, one of the oldest in Lima and onto one if its restaurants where the barman will show us how he makes his recognized pisco sour. Lunch and visit the Pachacamac Archaeological Complex where you will distinguish palaces, plazas and temples, some of them built by the Incas. We will drive through Pantanos de Villa (marshes), giving the opportunity to appreciate an oasis of protected natural area in the middle of the city. Overnight hotel.
Day 3
A full day to arouse our senses. We will first visit a local market to taste and appreciate the main local products which are guilty of our delicious gastronomy. We will then move to the famous China Town where we will feel the mixture of the Peruvian and the Chinese cultures. We will then drive to one of the middle-class districts to enter a recognized restaurant which will open exclusively for us and whose owner has powerful hands to make magic meals. She will introduce us her exquisite dishes. We will then move onto another recognized cheff in having the best ceviche in Lima. We will enter his kitchen and we will observe how he makes his ceviche so special! Lunch. To close, we will have a stroll around the streets of Barranco and become acquainted with its unique history as you enjoy its ocean views. You will visit a renowned handicraft shop which specializes in popular art, and whose host has dedicated years to collecting the best handcraft.
