PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

GENERAL

Any increase in the price of train, air tickets, entrance fees between the confirmation date and the trip dates will be passed onto client.  Please understand that there are certain hazards involved in adventurous holidays, which you must accept at your own risk. The Company will not be liable for any illness, injury or death sustained during a trek or any part of the holiday, nor will it be liable for any uninsured losses of your property. For that, we highly recommend you to take a cancellation travel insurance.

  1. PAYMENTS

FITS: A deposit of $300 per passenger is payable upon confirmation of your trip in order to book and prepay the train seats/Inca Trail/Machu Picchu entrance fees.  If you are also booking air tickets with us, we also require the total amount of air ticket prices. If you are booking a cruise in the Amazon, we also require another deposit of $500 per passenger. Final payment must be received no later than 30 days before the beginning of the trip. Final payment for the Amazon cruise must be received 90 days before the beginning of the cruise. Bookings made within 30 days of travel require full payment on confirmation.

GROUPS:  A deposit of $150 per passenger is payable upon confirmation of your trip in order to book and prepay the train seats/Inca Trail permits.  If you are also booking air tickets with us, we also require the total amount of air ticket prices. Final payment must be received no later than 60 days before the beginning of the trip. Bookings made within 60 days of travel require full payment on confirmation.

  1. CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES

Lima Mentor will make every effort to assist you if you wish to alter your arrangements at the planning stages of your trip, and during the course of your holiday.  Although, all the new charges corresponding to the new services required will be passed on to you and there will be no refunds for the services not taken.

If during the trip, you decide to cancel part or the whole trip or change the whole route, there will be no refunds.  Below you will find a table detailing the % to be refunded in case of cancellation by you.

*The entrance fees to enter the Inca Trail are non refundable.

In very rare circumstances, Lima Mentor may have to modify a confirmed holiday before you depart.  If the modification is significant (that is, if it is a change of flight time by more than 12 hours, a change of airport [except between airports serving the same city], a change of destination or a change to a lower standard of accommodation), Lima Mentor will notify you as soon as practicably possible and offer you two choices: to cancel the trip or part of the trip and receive a full and prompt refund of the unused services, or to accept the alternative, and in case of a change to a lower standard of accommodation to receive a refund for the difference amount between unused and lower accommodation.

Force-majeure means unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond the Company’s control, the consequences of which neither the Company nor its suppliers could avoid, including, but not limited to, war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity (actual or threatened), industrial dispute, technical problems with transport, machinery or equipment, power failure, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood, drought, adverse weather conditions and level of water in rivers. If as a result of force majeure, Lima Mentor becomes unable to provide a proportion of your holiday after it has commenced and alternative arrangements must be made, the passengers will have to bear the cost of those arrangements. Under no circumstances, will Lima Mentor offer refunds for cancellations in the event of “Force Majeure”.
